Build a quieter place with us.

We're a small team, growing carefully. If you're reading this all the way down, you might be the next one in. We hire slowly and only when we can't ship without you.
01 · Open

Two roles.

Both are senior. Both are based in Munich or Cape Town — we'd love you in either office at least a week a month.
01
iOS engineer · core
Work with João on the iOS app, the sync engine, and the offline-first storage layer. SwiftUI fluency, opinions on local-first.
München / Cape Town · €90–120k + equity
02
Product designer · app
Work with Mira on the app's flows. Strong portfolio of shipped consumer work. Comfortable in Figma, Swift Playgrounds, or whatever it takes to make something real.
München / Cape Town · €80–110k + equity

Not seeing your role? Write anyway. The best hires we've made were people who emailed when we didn't have a role open. jobs@plinn.app.

02 · How we work

Five principles.

The voice from the brand book applies to the team too. Quiet, specific, opinionated.
01
Ship small.
We push to TestFlight every Friday. Things that take a quarter get cut, or split. We'd rather ship a smaller idea fully formed than a larger one half done.
"One small thing, well done, every week."
02
Disagree by Tuesday.
Strong opinions held quietly. We say what we think early, not late. By Tuesday's standup, the disagreement is on the table — or we proceed without it.
"Silence on Monday means consent on Wednesday."
03
Walk the city.
We work where we live. Every week each of us does at least one walk in the city we work from, with a friend who doesn't work in tech. The product gets better when we do.
"You can't build a travel app from a desk."
04
No dark patterns.
Nothing in the product is allowed to manipulate the user against their interest. No fake scarcity, no engagement loops, no consent dialogs that hide the "no" button. If you're not sure, the answer is no.
"If we'd be ashamed to read the strategy doc aloud, we don't ship it."
05
Quiet by default.
The brand is quiet. The product is quiet. The team is quiet — we don't post a thread for every release. We sound louder once a quarter, when the work has earned it.
"Twelve good tweets a year beats one a day."
If unsure, cut it.
Almost every feature is one cut away from being right. When in doubt, remove a row, a tap, a sentence, a notification. The italic does the warmth — the code doesn't have to.
"The thing we didn't ship was usually correct."
03 · Compensation

The number.

Open salary bands, equity at every level, four weeks paid leave (which we expect you to take), a personal city-walks-and-meals budget.

Cash

The bands above are real, not aspirational. We pay at the top of each band where we can, the middle where the role is junior to us. We adjust for cost of living between Munich and Cape Town by ±8%.

Equity

Every employee gets meaningful equity. Vests over four years with a one-year cliff. We use early-exercise NSOs in the US analogue; in EU we use VSOPs structured to mirror it. We'll walk you through the maths during the offer call — not after.

Leave & time

Four weeks paid, plus your country's public holidays, plus the week between Christmas and New Year. We close the company for that week so you don't end up working alone.

Walking budget

€2,000 per year, per person, for city-walks-and-meals. We've found it makes everyone a better product person and costs less than one bad hire. You spend it however you want; you tell us about it in a sentence at retros.

04 · Process

Four conversations.

Three weeks from first email to decision. No take-home tests. We pay for the project round if you do it.
01
Anna or João
An introduction. We get to know each other for an hour. No questions about leetcode.
60 min · video
02
Two of the team
A conversation about real work — yours and ours. Bring a portfolio, a repo, anything you're proud of.
90 min · video
03
The team (Munich or Cape Town)
A project day. You spend a paid day with us on a small piece of real product work. Lunch is included.
1 day · €600 stipend
04
Anna + Felix
An offer. We walk through every number — base, equity, calendar, expectations — with you on the call.
45 min · video

If we're not going to make you an offer, you hear from us within 48 hours of each stage with a real reason. If you go to project day and we don't make an offer, you still get the stipend — the work was real.

05 · For the curious

If you're not sure.

If you read this far and you're still unsure, write to us anyway. We answer every honest email.
